The Food Bank for Westchester distributed 7.6 million pounds of food, providing 6.3 million meals to hungry people in Westchester County
Kraft Mobile Food Pantry Distributions: 991,000 pounds of fresh, healthy foods distributed directly to 120,000 people via 282 distributions.
Senior Grocery Program: 210,000 pounds of fresh food distributed to 61,000 seniors.
Neighborhood Food Express: 236,000 pounds of fresh food distributed to 31,000 individuals.
Project Green Thumb: 882,000 pounds of fresh food distributed to 31,000 individuals.
Retail Store Recovery Program: 756,000 pounds of food that would otherwise have gone to waste was collected from local markets and other vendors and distributed to our hungry neighbors.
BackPack Program: 37,000 BackPacks of food providing 259,000 meals (7 meals per bag) were distributed to 2,884 hungry children every other Friday for the weekend.
Kids Cafe Program: 184,000 meals were served at 10 Kids Cafés before and after school including: 53,000 dinners, 25,000 lunches, 10,000 breakfasts and 96,000 healthy snacks.
SNAP Outreach, Education & Advocacy Program: provided SNAP information to 1,200 people by phone, reached 145 people via SNAP information presentations, pre-screened 927 people for SNAP eligibility and made 449 home visits to seniors and the homebound to process SNAP applications.
Food Growing Program: 5 partner sites planted, cultivated, harvested and donated and 9,200 pounds of fresh produce (the equivalent of 39,000 servings).
Volunteers: 10,100 volunteers donated 26,800 hours to the Food Bank so that others may eat.
